The archaeological Tabalah City, located in Bishah Governorate in Aseer Province, southwestern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, features well-preserved Islamic rock inscriptions, both dated and undated, on the rock faces of Umm al-Raha and Umm Waqar plateaus. These inscriptions date back to the eighth and ninth centuries. Additionally, the city includes al-Thaghr Palace, a square-shaped structure surrounded by a massive wall with semi-circular towers at its four corners.
The archaeological Tabalah City has been known since the pre-Islamic era. It was described in travelers' writings as a densely populated village surrounded by orchards, with abundant palm trees, flowing springs, and water wells.
