The Saudi Printing and Packaging Company is a Saudi joint-stock company listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange 'Saudi Tadawul'. It was established in 1963 under the name al-Madinah Printing and Publication Company. In 2007, its name was changed to the Saudi Printing and Packaging Company, and 30 percent of its shares were offered for public subscription that year. The Saudi Research and Media Group and its subsidiaries own 70 percent of the shares of the Saudi Printing and Packaging Company.

The main activity of the company is printing newspapers, books, magazines, and commercial printing under license number 21050 issued by the Ministry of Media on June 25, 1992. It is a Saudi joint-stock company focused on the printing and packaging sectors. The company operates under commercial registration number 1010219709, issued in Riyadh City on May 28, 2006, based on the decision of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (currently the Ministry of Commerce) No. 104/Q dated May 7, 2007.

It was listed on Saudi Tadawul on July 4, 2007, and its shares are traded on the main market under the sector name "SPPC" with the symbol (4270) and ISIN (SA000A0MSX40). The company's capital amounts to SAR600 million. In 2006, its headquarters were relocated from Jeddah to Riyadh.

The company has advanced newspaper printing centers in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, where it prints several newspapers such as Asharq al-Awsat, al-Eqtisadiah, Arriyadih, Arab News, and al-Watan, among others, in addition to periodic commercial publications. The company also operates in the packaging and plastic manufacturing sectors, with factories located in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, and al-Madinah al-Munawwarah.

The company's activities are distributed across two sectors:

First: Printing Sector

The company is one of the largest printing companies in the Kingdom, the Middle East, and North Africa, providing comprehensive printing services through its group of subsidiaries, namely: Al-Madinah Printing and Publication Company and Hala Printing Company. The printing activity primarily focuses on printing newspapers and magazines targeting various sectors of the Arab world, in addition to bound books, commercial publications, and packaging in different languages and styles. The company, through its subsidiaries, prints a large number of magazines for the Saudi Research and Publishing Company and the Saudi Specialized Publishing Company, as well as for other publishers. Additionally, it provides printing services for government sectors such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, and the Ministry of Interior.

Second: The packaging sector

The company's activities in this sector are represented by Emirates National Factory for Plastic Industries and its subsidiaries, including Taiba Printing Press, Future Pack Factory, City Pack and Packaging Company, Flexible Packaging Company, al-Madinah Packaging Company through Future Plast, Union International Clear Packaging Company, United Security Company, Future Plast Industries Company, and KAPCO United Commercial Packaging. Emirates National Factory for Plastic Industries is one of the major integrated plastic manufacturing and packaging materials groups in the Gulf region, given its high production capacity and possession of modern plastic manufacturing and packaging technologies.
