Abdullah al-Othaim Markets Company is an extension of the Saleh al-Othaim Trading Establishment, which was founded in 1957. The first location was opened in Hillat al-Qusman in al-Batha, (the commercial area of Riyadh at that time), and the company initially engaged in the trade of foodstuffs. In 1980, Abdullah al-Othaim Markets Company was established to continue the legacy of expanding the business and opening wholesale and retail centers. By 1990, the company had grown to fourteen markets and implemented the 'Wholesale for Consumer' system across all its stores. In 1992, Abdullah al-Othaim Markets Company opened large warehouses with high storage standards to support the company's growth and development across its multiple centers. The warehouses were equipped with both dry and refrigerated storage methods. Additionally, the distribution fleet was expanded to enhance service quality for customers and facilitate collaboration with suppliers.
