The Riyadh Water Tower's height is about sixty-one m, with an estimated capacity of twelve thousand m. The tower was built in 1971 in al-Murabba Neighborhood, next to the King Abdulaziz Historical Center in Riyadh City, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its construction was overseen by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water (currently the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture).
The Riyadh Water Tower, or water tank, comprises a water tank that resembles an inverted pyramid and is raised on a cylindrical cement base. The tower was built with a different approach than traditional tower construction. It commenced from the top to the ground, where the upper part of the tank comprises two water chambers, and proceeded to raise the tank atop the tower's base until the entire tower was completed.
