'The Saudis' strength (Hemmat) is like that of the Tuwaiq mountain' is a phrase coined by Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, during the Future Investment Initiative conference in Riyadh in 2018. He used it to describe the determination of the Saudi people, indicating that it is as lofty as Tuwaiq Mountain. He added, 'It will not be broken, unless this mountain is leveled and equaled to the ground.'
Tuwaiq Mountains hold a special place in the Saudi memory and are considered one of the prominent geographical and tourist landmarks in the Kingdom. They are a mountain range that forms a narrow plateau, located to the west of the Riyadh Province in the center of the Kingdom.
Tuwaiq Mountains' range spans approximately eight hundred km and rises about six hundred m above the surrounding plains. The highest peak on the Tuwayq escarpment reaches 1,196 m and is called 'Fareeda al-Shazia.'
