1909

Recordings of religious chants, Prophetic praise songs, Quranic recitations, the Adhan from the Makkan Sanctuary, narrative songs, and Makkan Daanat performed with the oud by employees of the Dutch Consulate in Jeddah.

1953

The Ministry of Defense and Aviation established the Saudi Arabian Army's band school with the aim of performing the Saudi royal anthem and providing entertainment for officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers.

1961

Establishment of the Saudi Radio Band to serve as the foundation for radio studios and to support emerging songs at that time.

1973

Establishment of the Society for Culture and Arts to provide support for artists and organize musical events.

1983

Establishment of companies to produce cassette tapes.

1999

Emergence of the internet, downloading and trading of artworks digitally, and the introduction of digital CDs.

2019

Establishment of the National Music Band, a key initiative to realize the cultural strategy of enhancing cultural awareness as a lifestyle in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Launch of the Folklore Competition, a national competition organized by the Ministry of Culture, to serve and preserve intangible national heritage.

2020

Establishment of the Music Commission by a decision of the Council of Ministers to build the infrastructure for music culture. This initiative aims to enable everyone to learn, discover, and develop music while increasing awareness about music culture.

2021

Launch of the "San'ah" program by the Music Commission for virtual training on music production.

Launch of the Saudi Trouq Program to document and archive heritage arts that reflect the Saudi identity.

Launch of the Saudi Music Hub by accepting applications from individuals interested in learning music and music arts.

Launch of the Virtual Music Academy, a virtual academy accessible to students from all over the Kingdom and the world.

Launch of the "Moja" Program in collaboration with Anghami Platform, under the slogan "This is Your Time," to empower the Saudi music community and support emerging talents to refine their musical and singing skills.
