Al-Faisal University is a private, non-profit university established by King Faisal Foundation in 2002 in Riyadh City. It was established as a non-profit educational institution to meet the Kingdom's future goals in scientific programs.
Al-Faisal University was established in line with the Ministry of Education's plan (formerly the Ministry of Higher Education) for the private education sector in Saudi Arabia to achieve a 30 percent participation rate before the end of its ninth development plan in 2013.
