Al-Qatif Corniche is one of the tourist attractions in Qatif Governorate, in the Eastern Province. It overlooks the waters of the Arabian Gulf in the eastern part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its total area is approximately 32,000 m
Description of al-Qatif Corniche
Al-Qatif Corniche stretches as a coastal strip opposite al-Qatif Port. It is bordered by Corniche Street to the north, the Anak Corniche to the south, the Arabian Gulf waters to the east, and residential neighborhoods to the west.
The corniche's coastline extends from the city of Saihat, through Anak and al-Qatif, reaching the shores of Darin and Tarout, spanning over forty km east of al-Qatif. It serves as an extension of the Dammam and al-Khobar Corniche. The Corniche has been developed to become a tourist attraction in the region.
Alongside the coastline, there is a green area with organized seating arrangements. Numerous artistic installations have been implemented, such as painted chairs and other aesthetic touches created by artists and volunteers, aiming to attract tourists to this corniche.
Facilities at al-Qatif Corniche
The corniche includes a land frontage extending 3,600 m in length and varying between sixty and eighty m in width to accommodate pedestrian traffic.
The seafront in al-Qatif features a belt that runs along its shore, extending from the city of Saihat to the village of al-Zour, and includes necessary visitor services such as children's playgrounds, buffets, and restrooms.
The Saihat Corniche is notable for its artificial lake, connected to the waters of the Gulf via a thirty-m-long water channel over which the Corniche road between Dammam and Saihat passes. This channel allows leisure boats to enter the lake. The artificial lake is surrounded by a vast expanse of land, pedestrian walkways, and parking spaces.
