The Saudi Tourist Visa is one of the Saudi Visas launched in September 2019 that allows tourists from around the world to stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for up to ninety days. The visa can be used for tourism-related activities and Umrah (excluding Hajj season) and excludes other activities such as studying.
In 2019, the Kingdom has set a strategic goal to reach 100 million visits annually by 2030. In 2023, it was announced that the targets had been increased to achieve 150 million visits and 70 million international tourists annually by 2030.
Types of Saud Tourist Visa
There are two types of Saudi tourist visas: a single-entry visa with a validity of three months and a stay duration of 90 days, and a multiple-entry visa with a validity of one year and a stay duration of three months.
Saudi Tourist Visa Eligibility
The visa applicant's age must be at least 18 years old unless accompanied by their guardian, and the passport must be valid for at least 6 months at the time of entering the Kingdom. Furthermore, the religion of the applicant is not relevant nor a sponsor is required.
The issuance of a tourist visa requires a number of documents including: proof of accommodation, return ticket, proof of employment, bank statement, flight itinerary, complete personal information, and a residence address.
Saudi Tourist Visa Fees
The cost of the tourist visa is USD80 (refundable), with a digital service fee for the visa costing USD10.50 (non-refundable), and a digital service fee for insurance also costing USD10.50 (non-refundable), in addition to the insurance fee (depending on the chosen insurance company).
How to Apply for a Saudi Tourist Visa
Tourists can apply for a tourist visa in one of the following ways: online through the e-Visa platform; a channel designed for tourists from sixty-six specified countries, this process takes between five to thirty minutes. The second method is upon arrival via six entry ports, and this method is designed for tourists from the sixty-six specified countries, or holders of American, British, and Schengen visas provided that the above-mentioned visa is valid and holds the stamp of the issuing country, and is either tourist or commercial and had been used at least once. The third method is through the Saudi Embassies and Consulates abroad, this way is available for tourists from all over the world.

The list of sixty-six countries whose citizens can obtain a Saudi e-Visa includes: European countries: Albania, Andurra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russa, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, and England. From Asia: Azebaijan, Brunei, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Singapore, South Korea, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. From North America: the United States of America, Canada, Bahamas, Barbados, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Panama, and Grenada. From Africa: Mauritius, Seychelles, and South Africa. From Oceania: Australia and New Zealand.
