Al-Qessar Heritage Village is located on Farasan Island in Jazan Province, southwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is a tourist destination, characterized by its heritage buildings surrounded by palm trees and built with stone walls and roofs made of palm fronds. Its importance lies in being a summer resort where Farasan locals spend over three consecutive months during the season of al-Asef, the summer north winds. The village is known for its fresh groundwater, which is no more than seven meters deep.
The village is comprised of several alleys, each constructed from carved and polished stones. The roofs are made of palm trunks or doum tree trunks, and palm fronds or coral blocks, which are large chunks of marine algae, placed on top of them.
