Hafr Al-Batin Municipality is the authority responsible for the development of the Hafr al-Batin Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is one of seventeen municipalities distributed across the Kingdom's thirteen provinces, with its headquarters located in the Hafr al-Batin Governorate.
Hafr al-Batin Municipality is among the most recent municipalities established at the regional secretariat level. On April 24, 2018, the Council of Ministers approved the upgrading of the organizational status of Hafr al-Batin Municipality to an Amana. It was determined that any future municipalities established within the administrative oversight of the governorate would be linked to it. It is one of three municipalities in the Eastern Province, which includes Eastern Province Municipality and Alahsa Municipality. The municipality is headed by an official called the Mayor. It undertakes the execution of mandates assigned to it as defined by its jurisdictional decisions.

Hafr al-Batin Municipality administratively falls under the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing. Its headquarters is located in the Hafr al-Batin Governorate. It oversees seven subsidiary communes, including al-Qaisumah Municipality, al-Dhaybiyah Municipality, al-Sadawi Municipality, as-Suairah Municipality, South Hafr al-Batin Municipality, East Hafr al-Batin Municipality, and West Hafr al-Batin Municipality.
Tasks of Hafr Al-Batin Municipality
Hafr al-Batin Municipality carries out several tasks within its jurisdiction, including paving roads and streets, implementing and maintaining parks and gardens, treating swamps and water collection points, implementing flood drainage projects on roads and streets and their maintenance, executing public slaughterhouses projects, establishing and maintaining general markets and specialized markets, the urban development of Hafr al-Batin, coordinating with government entities to develop the structural plans for the governorate, and providing municipal services to citizens and residents in innovative ways.
