Jood Eskan is a national platform that contributes to providing suitable housing for the neediest families in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It aims to engage the community in charitable housing contributions and connects individual contributors with the most needy families in the housing sector. It is one of the initiatives of the National Developmental Housing Foundation.
Jood Eskan Platform partnerships
The platform collaborates with 240 charitable organizations and supported more than 23,000 beneficiaries from 2016 to 2020, with community contributions exceeding SAR400 million. This support is provided through two main tracks: providing housing and assisting those unable to pay their rent.
Jood Eskan Platform objectives
The platform aims to achieve several objectives, including contributing to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 for enabling a healthy and prosperous life, activating partnerships and integration between government, private, and commercial sectors to achieve national priorities, increasing the reliability of providing housing assistance, enhancing individual contributions to community participation in charitable housing support, and increasing family stability and community cohesion.
Jood Eskan tracks
The platform offers multiple tracks to support the most needy families in the housing sector. One such track is: the housing provision support, which enables community members to provide housing assistance through licensed associations.
There is also the rental support track, which allows charitable organizations to upload eligible cases to the Jood Eskan platform, making these cases visible to the public so that everyone can contribute. Additionally, the general contribution track enables individuals and charitable organizations to partially or fully support the neediest families in various aspects of housing.
Jood Eskan Platform actions
The platform works to provide suitable housing for the most needy families in the community in partnership with charitable associations that cover various provinces of the Kingdom. These associations upload eligible cases to the Jood Eskan platform. After displaying beneficiary information on the platform, relevant entities, including the Ministry of Interior and the Saudi Central Bank, conduct oversight. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing facilitate the provision of assistance.
'Jood Eskan Charity Subscription' Campaign
The "Jood Eskan Charity Subscription Campaign" was launched in March 2023 under the slogan "Evergreen Stock". It introduced the concept of a winning share starting at SAR10 with charitable profits, aiming to raise SAR1 billion divided into one hundred million shares to provide housing for 3,500 beneficiary families from charitable housing programs. The campaign set a new Guinness World Record for the largest charitable campaign target achieved in one month.
'Jood Regions' Campaign
The "Jood Regions" follows the Jood Eskan platform and was launched in March 2024 to provide housing for the most needy families across the Kingdom's thirteen provinces. The campaign aims to provide 10,735 housing units, including 1,109 units in Riyadh, 1,299 units in Makkah al-Mukarramah, 447 units in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, 1,142 units in the Eastern Province, 196 units in al-Jawf, 190 units in al-Bahah, 993 units in Aseer, 1,171 units in Qassim, 420 units in Hail, 526 units in Tabuk, 198 units in the Northern Borders, 320 units in Najran, five hundred units in Jeddah, five hundred units in Taif, five hundred units in al-Ahsa, and one hundred units in Hafr al-Batin.
