The Dates Society for Humanitarian Services (Tmoor) is a non-profit civil society focused on addressing waste and loss in dates and recycling them. It was established in Riyadh City, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on July 17, 2019. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development approved the expansion of its activities to include all provinces of the Kingdom on September 22, 2020

Objectives of the Dates Society for Humanitarian Services

The Dates Society for Humanitarian Services aims to lead developmental work in the date industry and its humanitarian services through strategic initiatives with partners and stakeholders.

The society also aims to develop solutions for distributing dates in-kind to those in need, empower youth, productive families, and low-income individuals to invest in the date industry, address waste and loss in dates, and recycle and utilize them.

Target groups of the Dates Society for Humanitarian Services

The Dates Society for Humanitarian Services has identified issues, goals, indicators, and initiatives in its strategy. It began with financial and human sustainability, developing solutions for distributing dates in-kind to those in need, and defined its internal operations based on high-tech infrastructure, income, and revenue growth, building effective partnerships, and enhancing human resource efficiency.

The Dates Society for Humanitarian Services has identified its beneficiaries as youth, productive families, low-income individuals, and those interested in investment, as well as civil societies through efficient distribution of dates in-kind to those in need and optimal utilization of date donations. The stakeholders benefit from community solutions for awareness and education to prevent date waste and loss. The community benefits from maximizing impact and achieving stakeholder satisfaction. The organization has also emphasized learning and growth by innovating products and services, institutional learning, developing research and studies, seeking financial sustainability, and building a system for measuring social impact.

Initiatives of the Dates Society for Humanitarian Services

The society has launched several initiatives to develop solutions for distributing dates in-kind to those in need. These include launching a digital platform for in-kind date donations, studying the challenges of date distribution and providing solutions, organizing Iftar projects for fasting individuals, managing the distribution of donations from date farms, and overseeing the collection and distribution of Zakat on dates.

The society has adopted initiatives for training and qualification programs to invest in the date industry. To address waste and loss, it launched initiatives to provide solutions for reducing date waste, a date recycling initiative, and an initiative for processing dates suitable for food manufacturing.

Achievements of the Dates Society for Humanitarian Services

According to 2022 statistics, the Dates Society for Humanitarian Services provided approximately 721,680 food baskets and 400,914 boxes of dates, distributed across all provinces of the Kingdom.

The number of benefiting societies reached 613, while the total number of families benefiting from the association was about 923,737. The total number of food baskets distributed was 721,680, and the total number of date boxes was 400,914. The total number of individual beneficiaries was approximately 3,971,164, and the number of volunteers totaled 10,406.
