Jabal al-Lith Island is an atoll located southwest of al-Lith City on the Red Sea, along the western coastline of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is administratively affiliated with the Makkah al-Mukarramah region. The island derived its name from a mountain situated at its southern end and was associated with the city of al-Lith, situated approximately 11.5 NM to the northeast of the island. It is the closest populated area in proximity to the island.

Area and Location of Jabal al-Lith Island

Jabal al-Lith Island has an area of about four km and is a longitudinal island that extends northwestward to southeastward, with a maximum length of about 4.7 km. The island is situated on a coral reef and is surrounded by some small islands spread around it, with numerous capes jutting out from the reef.

Topography and terrain of Jabal al-Lith Island

The northern side of the island's surface is covered by sand, and the surface is graded upwards toward the south and southwest, with the highest altitude of about twenty-eight m at the peak of Jabal al-Lith. There are also some highlands halfway along its western coast, with some shrubs growing on the island’s surface. It is located about 11.5 NM off the coast.
