Al-Wasl Island, also known as al-Humaidah, is a small atoll located southwest of the city of Haql in Tabuk Province, northwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its coordinates are a northern latitude of 29° 12' 30" and an eastern longitude of 34° 54' 36", with a total surface area of around 0.02 km. The island takes its name, al-Humaidah, relative to the town of al-Humaidah located to its northeast.
Classification
Al-Wasl Island is classified as one of the prominent small islands with an area of less than one km, out of a total of 1,075 Saudi islands, of which 93.5 percent are located in the Red Sea. It is also one of the Kingdom's 376 renowned islands, spread in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba.

Al-Wasl Island is located at the entrance of a small, profound inlet on the eastern coast of the Gulf and is connected to the coast through submerged coral reefs, with numerous capes jutting out. Al-Wasl Island is the northernmost island to the north of the Kingdom and is about 0.3 NM offshore.
Al-Wasl Island and Egypt's Pharaoh Island, located northwest of the Gulf, are the only islands located in the northern part of the Gulf of Aqaba.
