Ahmed Al-Hassan
Ahmed Sufyan Al-Hassan has been the Assistant Minister of Transport and Logistics Services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since July 3, 2022. He previously led the Information Technology Group at Bank AlJazira and served as Chief Operating Officer at the same bank.
Academic qualifications
He obtained a bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Sciences from King Saud University in the capital, Riyadh, in 2002. Following his graduation, he completed several executive training programs, including the Management Development Program at INSEAD in 2008, Innovation for Chief Information Officers at Stanford University in 2013, the High Potentials Leadership Program at IMD in 2014, the Leadership and Influence Program at Harvard Business School in 2016, and the Executive Leadership Program at London Business School in 2018.
Career
He worked as a systems analyst at the Saudi Central Bank from 2002 to 2005. He then became the Director of Information Technology for the Saudi Payments System (SADAD) from 2005 to 2009. After that, he joined SABB Financial Group, where he served as Head of Digital Channels Development from 2009 to 2011 and Director of Strategic Planning from 2011 to 2013.
In 2011, he became Head of Transformation Enablement at Bank AlJazira, a role he held until 2012. He was appointed Head of the Information Technology Group at Bank AlJazira from 2011 to 2017 and then served as the bank’s Chief Operating Officer from 2017 to 2022. On July 3, 2022, a Royal Order was issued appointing him Assistant Minister of Transport and Logistics Services with the rank of Excellent Grade.
Memberships
Ahmed Sufyan Al-Hassan has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Social Support and Subsidies System at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development since 2022 and a member of the Board of Directors of Saudi Post (SPL) since the same year.
