Ada’a Health Award is an annual award launched by the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2018, as part of the initiatives of the Ada’a Health Program, which aims to enhance healthcare performance, achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, support capabilities, and promote a culture of performance measurement in line with the transformation in the healthcare sector.

Objectives of the Ada’a Health Award

The award aims to motivate healthcare and support systems in Saudi Arabia, create a platform for healthcare practitioners to present their outstanding experiences, promote key practices and innovative health solutions, attract global expertise and best practices, and recognize practitioners with exceptional professional performance.

It also seeks to foster a competitive and healthy environment to enhance the quality of healthcare services and facilitate access to them, highlight Saudi Arabia’s efforts in supporting and developing the healthcare system, and celebrate national, regional, and international success stories and initiatives carried out during the award period.

Judging panel of the Ada’a Health Award

The award is evaluated by a judging panel composed of specialists from within Saudi Arabia, along with international members in the fields of healthcare. The panel includes academics, professionals, consultants, and business sector leaders. It honors winners from healthcare institutions in both the public and private sectors, at the local and international levels.

Tracks of the Ada’a Health Award

The Ada’a Health Award evolves in line with healthcare developments. In its 2021 edition, the award focused on showcasing Saudi Arabia’s efforts in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and maintaining the stability of the healthcare system. Categories included COVID-19 Response, COVID-19 Recovery, Health Performance, adoption of new services such as telemedicine and the Mawid program, as well as support for national initiatives and international participation.

The 2022 edition centered on early detection and prevention, digital health and virtual services, quality of medical care, efficiency of access to care, and improving critical care response.

In the 2023 edition, the selected tracks were: digitally enabled care, delivery of specialized care, efficiency of access to care, and improvement of critical care.
