Abdullah Sulaiman Al-Suraykh (1954–2021), was a Saudi folk artist, belonging to the older generation of folk singing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His artistic career spanned more than forty years, and he began singing in 1974.

Life of Abdullah Al-Suraykh

Abdullah Al-Suraykh was born in the governorate of Unaizah in Al-Qassim in central Saudi Arabia, where he began his artistic career. He loved music and learned to play several instruments from an early age with his friends. He turned to folk art through his mastery of Maqam Al-Saba, one of the maqams in the Arabic musical scale, which qualified him to revive a number of folk concerts and gatherings in Unaizah, especially on the stages of Al-Najmah Club and Al-Arabi Club in Unaizah. Al-Suraykh represented Saudi folk song at more than one event inside Saudi Arabia and abroad, and he presented a national song for Saudi television entitled "Ya Ruba Al-Fayha", on the occasion of the return of King Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1977.

Abdullah Al-Suraykh died on Friday, January 29, 2021, at the age of sixty-seven.
