Osama Ahmed Mohammed Jannadi is the President of the University of Business and Technology (UBT) in Jeddah. He previously served as the Vice President for the branches of Taibah University in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, west of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and was a member of the Technical Committee for the Third Saudi Expansion Project of the Prophet’s Mosque.

Osama Jannadi completed his primary education stages in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah before joining King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with honors in Civil Engineering in 1983. He continued his education at George Washington University in the United States (USA), where he obtained a Master’s degree in Engineering Management in 1986 and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering and Construction Management in 1989. Additionally, he earned a specialized certification in Value Engineering from the Society of American Value Engineers (SAVE) in 2004.

Osama Jannadi was awarded the Prince Bandar Bin Sultan Bin AbdulazizAl Saud Award for Academic Excellence in Washington, USA, in 1989. He was also nominated for the Excellence Award in Short Courses and received the Excellence in Research Award at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in 1999-2000. Furthermore, he was granted five scholarships from the British Council and an international Fulbright Scholarship from the USA.

Osama Jannadi worked as an Assistant Civil Engineer at EG&G Intertek in Arlington, Virginia, USA, where he contributed to analyzing and studying the causes of finishing defects in residential buildings. He held numerous positions at KFUPM, including Teaching Assistant in the Department of Construction Engineering and Management within the College of Environmental Design, University Housing Maintenance Coordinator, Safety Coordinator, and Head of the Department of Construction Engineering and Management. He later served as Dean of the College of Environmental Design, Dean of Graduate Studies, and Acting Dean of Research at KFUPM. Janadi has also been a visiting professor at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom and George Washington University in the USA.
He worked as a Construction Safety Advisor with Saudi Aramco and contributed to al-Hawiyyah Gas Project. He also conducted value engineering studies for various Saudi Aramco projects. Additionally, he served as the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology and the Business Administration Colleges in Jeddah. He was also the Vice President for the branches of Taibah University and was in charge of projects in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah. He was a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department at Taibah University and a member of the Technical Committee for the Third Saudi Expansion Project of the Prophet’s Mosque.

Osama Jannadi has published twenty-eight papers in peer-reviewed journals, including 'The Impact of Human Relations on Construction Worker Safety' in the International Journal of Project Management, UK; 'Economic Feasibility Study of Establishing a Small Water Purification Plant in the Kingdom' in the Journal of Environmental and Urbanization; 'Reasons for Contractor Losses in the Kingdom' in the Project Management Journal, USA; and 'Factors Affecting Safety in Construction Fields' in the Journal of Building Research and Information, UK.
He has also served as a consultant for various companies, attended workshops and courses in his field, and delivered lectures and chaired sessions at scientific conferences. Jannadi has authored scientific reports and projects, some independently and others in collaboration with others. He has published forty-five research papers at scientific conferences and supervised fifty-four theses for PhD, Master’s, and graduation. Additionally, he has participated in reviewing numerous academic papers.
