His Royal Highness Prince Abdullah Bin Bandar Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (born on August 7, 1986) has been the Minister of National Guard of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since December 27, 2018. He is the third prince to undertake the ministry after the transformation of the National Guard Presidency into the Ministry of National Guard by Royal Order issued in 2013. He is also the chairman of the Supreme Council of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz College of Command and Staff.

His education

He is the eleventh son of Prince Bandar Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He was born in Riyadh, completed his primary, middle, and secondary education in Riyadh schools in 2002/2003, ranking second in the Kingdom, and received his bachelor’s from King Saud University in 2008. While pursuing his undergraduate studies, he was engaged in business activities.

His offices and positions

He occupied a variety of offices and positions before he was appointed head of the Ministry of National Guard. He previously served as Deputy Governor of Makkah al-Mukarramah Province in 2017, after the post had remained vacant for about seventeen years, during which he chaired meetings of the Central Hajj Committee.

Further, he worked in Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman's Office while he was Special Adviser to the Governor of Riyadh Province, and also worked in the Crown Prince's Court following the selection of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz as Crown Prince on June 8, 2012. Prince Abdullah went on to work in the Royal Court upon the ascension of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz to the throne.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, chairman of the Board of Directors of al-Disah Project within the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Natural Reserve, and member of the Board of Directors of Amaala Project and the Council of Royal Reserves. He also chairs the Board of Directors of the Imam Saud Bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve.
