
Maziad al-Subai'i (born 1959) is a Saudi media personality who worked as a news anchor and presenter for various programs on Saudi television. His voice became associated with broadcasting news, Royal Orders, speeches, and coverage of holidays and seasonal events. His career spanned approximately thirty years, beginning in the 1980s.
Life of Maziad al-Subai’i
Maziad al-Subai’i was born in al-Khobar City, Eastern Province, where he grew up and completed his elementary and intermediate education in al-Thuqbah before finishing high school in Dammam. He later moved to Riyadh City and enrolled at King Saud University, where he studied media at the College of Literature, graduating in 1982.
Professional career of Maziad al-Subai’i
Maziad al-Subai’i began his television career immediately after graduating from King Saud University, following a recommendation from his academic mentor to Saleh al-Suwaidan (who was then head of announcers at Riyadh Radio). Recognizing his broadcasting skills, al-Suwaidan nominated him for television work, marking his entry into the industry in 1983.
Throughout a career spanning nearly thirty years, he presented various television programs, including sports shows, news bulletins, official ceremonies, and Hajj season coverage. His voice became closely associated with broadcasting Royal Orders, speeches, and coverage of holidays and seasonal events.
A decade after retiring from television, Maziad al-Subai’i returned to present a news bulletin on Al Ekhbariya TV for a single occasion. His return coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic and World Television Day.
