Ushaiqer Heritage Village
Ushaiqer, a heritage town in Shaqra Governorate, Riyadh Province, lies two hundred km west of Riyadh City. The town is characterized by its mud-brick walls and tamarisk-wood roofing for its rooms and corridors.
Ushaiqer is home to several heritage landmarks, including a museum, a store, a heritage restaurant, and mud houses. This comes in addition to three ancient mosques: Al-Jami' Mosque, al-Faylaqiyah Mosque, and the Northern Mosque.
Heritage Village in Shaqra
It is a heritage town situated in the heart of Shaqra Governorate, Riyadh Province. It showcases the traditional style of Najdi cities, featuring mosques, markets, and houses. One of its notable areas is 'al-Husseini Neighborhood,' home to the residences of dignitaries, scholars, and judges, as well as 'al-Subaie House.' The town boasts numerous heritage landmarks, including the ancient wall dating back to 1817, watchtowers, a dam, and old wells.
Sadus Heritage Village
It is a heritage site situated to the northwest of Riyadh City, playing a role in Saudi Arabia’s history and its unification. The site is laid out in a rectangular shape, stretching from north to south, surrounded by a wall featuring semi-circular towers at each corner. The main gate is positioned at the center of the southern side of the wall. The site has undergone a restoration project, preserving the town’s mud buildings and revitalizing its pathways to attract tourists and visitors. It features historic traditional architecture, with notable neighborhoods such as al-Bilad, al-Rass, Jeddah, and Musaddah. Among its archaeological landmarks is the Sadus Column, a significant feature of the ancient roadways.
Al-Ghat Heritage Village
It is a heritage site located in al-Ghat Governorate, affiliated with Riyadh Province, showcasing a model of heritage towns built in the Najdi style. The site features restored mud houses, a museum, a hostel, and historical mosques. Among its notable landmarks is the Amara Palace, which has been transformed into a museum, alongside a traditional market.
