Shaqra Governorate is one of the governorates of the Riyadh province, located in the center of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. it is situated northwest of the capital, Riyadh, at a distance of 180 km from it. To the north, it is bordered by al-Majma'ah and al-Ghat governorates and al-Qassim region. To the east, it's bordered by Thadiq Governorate. To the south, it is bordered by Marat Governorate, and to the west by al-Dawadmi Governorate.

The governorate is home to 0.5 percent of the population of the Riyadh province, estimated at 46,403 residents according to the 2022 Saudi Census. The governorate covers an area of 4,110 km².
Architectural heritage in Shaqra Governorate
Shaqra is renowned for its historic architectural identity, represented by its heritage city center. This center comprises historical palaces, walls, mosques, wells, and dams. Notable landmarks include al-Subaie Palace, where King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud resided, al-Husseini Mosque, al-Jameeh House, al-Hameediyah Well, and Wadi al-Remah Dam.
