Fahd Jaber al-Harithi (1943–2019) was a Saudi teacher and educator who dedicated approximately forty years to the education sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He served as the head of the Arabic Language Department at the Teachers' College in Jeddah (formerly) and worked as the Director of Education in al-Bahah Province.

Life of Fahd Jaber al-Harithi

Fahd Jaber al-Harithi was born in Maysan Governorate in al-Harith, south of Taif Governorate. He completed his primary education in Maysan Governorate, followed by middle and high school at Dar al-Tawhid Schools in Taif. He then joined the College of Sharia in Makkah al-Mukarramah, where he studied in the Arabic Language Department and graduated in 1968.

He earned his master's degree in Saudi literature from al-Azhar University in the Arab Republic of Egypt in 1980. In 1983, he obtained his doctorate in Arabic literature from the same university. He had seven children: Ahmed, Mohammed, Suad, Zuhair, Khaled, Abdulrahman, and Ibtisam.

Professional life of Fahd Jaber al-Harithi

Fahd Jaber al-Harithi began his professional career as a teacher at az-Zafir Intermediate School in al-Bahah Province in 1969. He then moved to al-Shati Secondary School in Jeddah City, where he worked as a teacher for two years from 1970 to 1971.

In 1972, he was appointed as the Director of Education in al-Bahah Province. He later joined the Teachers' College in Makkah al-Mukarramah in 1985, where he worked for three years. He then moved to the Teachers' College in Jeddah, serving as the head of the Arabic Language Department until 1995.

Educational contributions of Fahd Jaber al-Harithi

During his tenure as the Director of Education in al-Bahah Province, Fahd Jaber al-Harithi led a developmental and educational project based on collaboration with the local community. Residents donated dozens of plots of land to establish educational projects that served the province's children.

Al-Harithi introduced a vision for administrative work titled "Management by Objectives." He presented a working paper on this concept at the Conference of Education Directors in the Kingdom, held in Riyadh City, and used al-Bahah Education Administration as a model for its implementation. He also contributed to the localization project and its policies by opening schools in remote areas and nomadic communities in al-Bahah Province.

Awards and honors of Fahd Jaber al-Harithi

Fahd Jaber al-Harithi was honored by Prince Mohammed Bin Saud, the then Governor of al-Bahah Province, for his role in advancing education in the province. He was also recognized by the World Knowledge Exchange Foundation in the Kingdom of Bahrain for his efforts in promoting education and knowledge. The award was received on his behalf by his son, Abdulrahman.
