Othman Salem al-Twairqi is a Saudi professor and surgeon specializing in oral and maxillofacial cosmetic surgery. He holds the American Board certification in the same field and is one of the trustees at Harvard University. The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery selected him as one of the best doctors in his field worldwide. He works as a consultant and instructor at several universities, both local and international.

Othman al-Twairqi obtained his bachelor's degree in dental surgery from King Saud University in Riyadh City in 1986. He was then sent on a scholarship to the University of London in the United Kingdom for one year to prepare for the British Fellowship Examination. In 1988, he went to the United States to continue his studies.
He obtained the American Board certification in 1996, becoming the first Saudi to receive it in the region. He then earned a master's degree from Tufts University in the USA and received a fellowship in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the American Association (American Board) in 1996, in addition to obtaining the general fellowship. He also earned a master's degree focusing on tobacco and its carcinogenic effects on the mouth, and later obtained a doctorate from Harvard University.

In 1987, Othman al-Twairqi was appointed at King Saud University as a representative for teaching assistants. He then worked as a consultant and instructor at several universities, such as Boston, Harvard, Maryland, Tufts, and al-Faisal University. He was elected as the best doctor in America in 2000–2001, and Harvard University granted him a seat among the trustees. The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery selected him as one of the best doctors in his field worldwide.
Research of Othman al-Twairqi
Othman al-Twairqi presented three research studies: The first focused on tobacco and its carcinogenic effects on the mouth, the second introduced pre-chemotherapy treatment as a novel approach to treating bone cancers, and the third explored genes that contribute to the development of bone cancer.
Voluntary works of Othman al-Twairqi
He contributed to helping and treating Syrian war victims on the Syrian-Turkish border under the slogan "Answering the Call." This included performing the world's first full face transplant surgery, encompassing the face, jaw with teeth, and neck, in 2014.
