The establishment of the Royal Commission for al-Ula with the aim of developing the region, to reflect its historical status, as well as the archaeological sites and human heritage it contains.

2018

French cooperation with the Royal Commission for al-Ula to develop, protect, and promote its heritage.

2018

The launch of the archaeological survey program as one of the initial stages of developing al-Ula by conducting studies and developing the region to become a tourist heritage destination.

2019

The launch of the Vision of AlUla by the Royal Commission for al-Ula to develop the region as a destination for world heritage. The vision focuses on preserving nature and heritage in partnership with the community.

2019

The announcement to establish Sharaan Nature Reserve, which aims to rehabilitate the environment in order to include authentic species, and develop the area's vegetation cover, in addition to the establishment of the Global Fund for the Arabian Leopard.

2020

The launch of the Al-Ula Design Studio, which provides consultations related to the design of buildings, in addition to architectural models and designs for those wishing to build commercial or residential properties that are in line with traditional Arab architectural styles. The studio also serves as a basis for the region's urban development.
