International Saudi Coffee Sustainability Forum

The International Saudi Coffee Sustainability Forum is an international forum that focuses on discussing the value chain of Saudi coffee, covering its economic, social, and environmental aspects related to sustainability. It includes panel discussions with the participation of numerous experts, an exhibition showcasing relevant efforts and plans, and workshops.

The forum was held in Jazan City and is one of the activities and programs of the Year of Saudi Coffee 2022 initiative, supported by the Quality of Life Program, one of the Saudi Vision 2030 programs. Its organization was supervised by the Ministry of Culture in conjunction with International Coffee Day from October 1-2, 2022.

The objectives of the international Saudi Coffee Sustainability Forum, following the Kingdom's membership in the International Coffee Organization, include exchanging experiences and expertise, and empowering and enhancing the international presence of Saudi coffee. It also aims at collaborating and participating in coffee research and innovation with relevant international organizations, supporting national capabilities, contributing to organizing an annual international forum dedicated to Saudi coffee to discuss achievements, challenges, and aspirations in partnership with the local community. Additionally, the forum intends to study cultural indicators in partnership with stakeholders to monitor and support this sector, enhance the role of farmers to improve production and stimulate sector sustainability, and support innovation and entrepreneurship industries that address the challenges facing the sustainability of the Saudi coffee value chain.

The international Saudi Coffee Sustainability Forum targets individuals working in industries or sectors related to coffee production, such as environmental experts, labor market experts, health and nutrition experts, researchers, and policymakers.

The international Saudi Coffee Sustainability Forum discussed four themes over two days, including scientific papers. The themes of the forum were as follows: Coffee and humanizing the environment, coffee and health, coffee as national wealth, and coffee as culture and society.
