Samtah Governorate is one governorate of the Jazan Province in the southwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is one of the southern gateways to the Kingdom. The governorate encompasses around forty-seven villages, with a population of approximately 155 thousand people equivalent to 11% of the population of the Jazan Province.

Samtah is a coastal governorate, as it is bordered to the west by the Red Sea, to the north by Ahad al-Masarha Governorate, to the northwest by Jazan (the headquarters of the emirate of the province), to the south by al-Tuwal Governorate, and to the east by al-Harth Governorate and the Republic of Yemen.
The governorate comprises two main centers: al-Qafil and al-Suhy. Each center governs several villages such as al-Jardiyah, al-Makramiyah, al-Saudi, al-Rawnah, al-Tarshiyah, and al-Gharoub.
Climate of Samtah Governorate
A hot and humid climate characterizes the governorate in the summer and a moderate climate in the winter. Its temperature relatively remains high throughout the year, with seasonal rainfall in the summer.
Landmarks of Samtah Governorate
Among the most famous historical landmarks in Samtah is the historical fortress, known as al-Sharif's Historical Fortress, located in its southwest. This fortress dates back to the year 1834, and it is one of the significant old landmarks in the Jazan Province.
Prominent beaches include al-Hasahees Beach in al-Suhy Center and the waterfront of al-Suhy Center. There's also a popular market in the center selling agricultural crops and food.
