His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has been the Governor of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province since December 12, 2023. He was the Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held the position of Deputy Minister of Defense at the rank of minister.

His military service

He obtained a bachelor's in military sciences from King Abdulaziz Military College. Then, he was appointed to the rank of lieutenant in the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces at the Ministry of Defense and Aviation (currently the Ministry of Defense). After that, he served as a platoon leader in the Fourth Air Defense Group in Khamis Mushayt and attained the rank of captain. Then his services were transferred to the military attaché in Washington.

His positions

In 2003, the services of Prince Salman Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz were transferred from the military corps to the diplomatic corps. The start was in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Saudi Embassy in Washington. A Royal Order was issued in 2003, according to which he was appointed Minister Plenipotentiary/B, at the thirteenth rank in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2006, the decision of the Council of Ministers was issued to appoint him as Minister Plenipotentiary/A at the fourteenth rank in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He was appointed as the Assistant Secretary-General of the National Security Council for Security and Intelligence Affairs with the excellent rank in 2011. He was appointed as Deputy Minister of Defense with the rank of Minister from 2013 to 2014.

He received a number of courses inside and outside the Kingdom, including the Shaheen missile operating course at the Saudi Air Defense Institute in Jeddah, the tactical control officer course for the Patriot missile system for air defense that took place at Fort Bliss in Texas, USA, the strategic intelligence training program at Bolling Air Base in Washington DC, and a parachute course in the United States of America
