Central Library at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University

The Central Library at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University is one of the university libraries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It houses over five million books within its automated storage system, which can retrieve over 1,500 books per hour. Located in the capital, Riyadh, it is considered one of the university's landmarks, providing advanced technology to facilitate access to information resources.

The Central Library at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University was designed to reflect authentic Arab heritage and occupies an area of 38,523 m. Its halls contain 112 Arabic manuscripts, preserved in special storage and displayed to visitors. The library offers services to faculty members, university students, staff, and academics outside the university.

The library also houses approximately seventy antiquities and over 173 rare books exhibited in the external museum. It is dedicated to preserving manuscripts from loss or damage and provides scientific and humanities resources for research and educational purposes. Additionally, it organizes, maintains, and offers advisory and guidance services to library patrons who wish to utilize these resources.

The library provides copies of documents, references, and manuscripts available in Arab and foreign libraries upon researchers' requests and makes them accessible. It also offers rare photographs in digital formats to facilitate researchers' work while striving to protect these materials from loss or deterioration. Furthermore, the library oversees the university's participation in local and international exhibitions.

The Central Library at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University has earned several awards, including the First Place Shield from the Arab Union Catalog for the best use of the catalog across the Arab world in 2017. It also received the Excellence Award and Shield from the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information (AFLI) Initiative for Libraries Responding to the COVID-19 Crisis in 2020.
