The Saudi Management Association is a scientific association specializing in management sciences. It was established on May 31, 1980, to serve the administrative and academic community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The association promotes administrative culture by offering approximately thirty-five services and products. These include forums, workshops, administrative evenings, authoring and translating management books, and presenting initiatives.
The main headquarters of the association is located at King Saud University in Riyadh. The association also has eight branches spread across the provinces of Makkah al-Mukarramah, al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, Qassim, Aseer, Hail, Najran, Jazan, and the Eastern Province.
Saudi Managment Association objectives
The Saudi Management Association strives to achieve several objectives, the most prominent of which is to develop the field of management through the exchange of scientific ideas, contributing to both scientific and practical advancement. Additionally, the association provides consultancy to support performance levels in the administrative field.
The Saudi Management Association realizes its goals using all available and appropriate means. Its activities include: encouraging the submission of scientific research, publishing and distributing it, printing specialized management books, issuing specialized management journals, organizing seminars, conferences, and administrative meetings, and conducting workshops, panel discussions, and management camps.
The committees and centers of the Saudi Management Association
The Saudi Management Association encompasses several committees under its management, each divided according to its specific tasks, which are:
- The Scientific Committee: It specializes in discussing and researching issues related to management. It also acts as a communication bridge between specialists and those interested in management. Its tasks include organizing regular and annual events, planning, and preparing for scientific activities, such as conferences, seminars, lectures, and meetings in various provinces of the Kingdom.
- The Training and Consultation Committee: It works on developing the professions of consultation and training within the center, meeting their needs through coordination with experienced members of the association. This committee offers consultation and training services, coordinates to benefit the service providers from the expertise of the association members, addresses the challenges faced by consultants and trainers, and organizes events to raise awareness regarding consultation and training services and their impact.
- The Media and Public Relations Committee: Its role is to highlight the efforts of the association throughout the Kingdom using media platforms and spread awareness of managerial culture through them. Additionally, it supports the association by shaping a supportive public opinion. Among its mandates are: representing the association on important occasions, providing the media with everything related to the association and its activities, introducing the association through brochures and guides, in addition to issuing specialized periodic bulletins and magazines, planning association meetings and providing their necessities, and developing the association's website.
- The Membership and Marketing Committee: It works to attract new members to expand the association's membership base. This is achieved through the development of services provided to members and the subscription system. It also markets the membership system and its benefits, communicates with members, showcases its members in the media, and focuses on the active members among them.
- The Planning and Development Committee: This committee specializes in preparing the work environment for the association to perform its roles with the highest efficiency within procedural and regulatory frameworks. It is responsible for preparing the organizational structure of the association, developing work regulations, and procedural manuals, and overseeing the drafting of contracts in which the association is a party.
- The Women's Committee: The Women's Committee was established in the Saudi Management Association as one of its organizational branches in 2001. It was founded to monitor the female members, study their needs for services and activities, and provide them according to their capabilities. The committee offers opportunities for women to actively participate in the association's activities and benefit from its programs. It also prepares training plans to operate with the highest possible efficiency and provides opportunities for participation in the association's publications.
- The Administrative Accreditation Center: Its mission is to prepare qualified cadres, enhance the quality of training inputs and outputs in the field of management, and establish indicators and standards for practical training practice. Its objectives include: evaluating training centers and trainers based on high professional standards, motivating training centers to adhere to the professional practice rules, establishing regulations to minimize violations, contributing to the protection of intellectual property rights and preserving publication rights in the training sector, and liaising with governmental entities to set regulatory rules that oblige institutes and training centers to register with the center.
The center offers several services, which include: classifying specialized management training centers, rating and accrediting trainers, authenticating certificates provided by training centers, granting an administrative fellowship certificate according to an accredited system, issuing a dedicated directory for administrative training centers, and a guide for administrative trainees in the Kingdom.
