

The Consumer Protection Association (CPA) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia undertakes several tasks and responsibilities, including: supporting the efforts of government entities concerned with consumer protection, notifying relevant authorities about any violations of consumer rights and interests, organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and exhibitions related to consumer protection activities, conducting studies and research and publishing their results in accordance with regulations and instructions, educating consumers on rational consumption through providing necessary information and consultations, proposing and studying relevant regulations related to consumer protection and their development, representing consumers in local and international committees and bodies related to consumer protection, cooperating with them in their activities in line with their objectives and following the required legal procedures, receiving consumer complaints related to fraud, deception, manipulation of goods or services, price hikes, and misleading advertisements in newspapers and other media, referring them to the concerned authorities, and following up on the cases.
CPA is an independent Saudi civil society association established under a decision by the Council of Ministers issued on July 2, 2007. Its primary goal is to care for consumer affairs and protect their interests by defending and safeguarding their rights, advocating for their issues with public and private entities, protecting them from all forms of fraud, imitation, and exploitation of goods and services, excessive price hikes, and educating consumers on consumer awareness and efficient consumption practices.
The association consists of permanent committees, such as the Financial Committee, and temporary committees, including the Committee for Consumers Affected by Mortgage Loan Contracts Linked to Variable Interest Rates (SAIBOR), the Committee for Fraudulent Homes, and the Committee for Domestic Labor.
