The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) is the entity responsible for technical and vocational training in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is dedicated to enhancing the quality of technical and vocational training in the Kingdom's labor market. It is the primary government entity in this field and is one of the largest training institutions in the Middle East.

Establishment of TVTC

The TVTC was founded in 1980, and all private institutes and training centers in the Kingdom joined it. By 1989, it had technical colleges, new paths for higher education, and a bachelor's degree program. Later, it continued to expand, until it opened technical female colleges in 2005.

After the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, the TVTC embarked on a new era to meet the needs of the labor market. The Minister of Education chaired its board of directors in 2017. The number of institutes and technical colleges has increased to around 286 training facilities across thirteen regions, according to 2021 statistics. Additionally, it has eight international technical colleges with approximately forty-six institutes for strategic partnerships operated by the private sector or international operators, supervised and supported by TVTC.

Contributions of TVTC

In 2022, TVTC contributed to elevating the Kingdom's technical training in the Global Knowledge Index 2022, to rank first globally in the percentage of students enrolled in non-university post-secondary education in vocational and technical programs.

In 2020, TVTC adopted operating two female digital colleges with a capacity of over four thousand female trainees. One is located in Riyadh, the capital, with a capacity of 1,700 female trainees, and the other is in Jeddah with a capacity of 2,200 female trainees, to cover the labor market needs more efficiently.
