The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not export Zamzam Water. It is one of the products whose export is prohibited pursuant to the laws of the Kingdom. However, every Hajj and Umrah performer is allowed to take one bottle of Zamzam Water that is specifically prepared for travel. However, Zamzam Water export as goods is prohibited.

Zamzam Water is produced at a bottling plant (King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Zamzam Watering Project), established in 2010 and valued at SAR700 million. The project aims to ensure the purity of Zamzam water and complete its automated packaging and distribution using advanced international technologies. The project encompasses several buildings, including the air compressors building, raw water packaging warehouse, production lines building, and the packages warehouse building with a daily storage capacity of two hundred thousand packages and a maximum storage capacity of approximately 2.2 million packages. The factory covers a total area of 13,405 m. The project is equipped with a ten MW backup generator building and operates via a SCADA system that enables control and monitoring at all the project's stages, starting with water pumping from the well to the last filling stages.
