The Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation, commonly referred to as 'Misk' or 'Misk Foundation', is a non-profit foundation that specializes in providing education to youth and developing their capacities in the fields of education, entrepreneurship, science, and technology. It achieves this by launching specialized programs and courses, establishing partnerships with local and international organizations, and launching business incubators and accelerators. The foundation was established by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, crown prince and chairman of the Council of Ministers, in his personal capacity in 2011, and he also chairs its board of directors.

Entities affiliated with the Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation

The foundation oversees the 'Misk Initiatives Center', which specializes in launching, organizing, and supervising initiatives. Additionally, it established the Misk Art Institute in 2017 to support artistic talents and arts in collaboration with global partners, such as the Louvre Museum in Paris, the Kennedy Center in Washington, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and other artistic institutions. Furthermore, the 'Misk Academy' offers specialized courses and practical training programs. There's also 'Manga Productions', a company dedicated to creating animated content and video games. 'Misk Schools', founded in 2016, serves students at all educational levels, implementing the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and 'Riyadh Schools'.

In 2017, the 'Misk Foundation' received the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award.

Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation initiatives

Among the most prominent initiatives launched by the foundation, represented by the Initiatives Center: the Misk Global Forum (MGF), in which youth from more than 120 countries around the world participate; the Human Capital Development Initiative, which offers fellowship programs, preparatory and training programs; the Misk Innovation Initiative for skills qualification and supporting emerging projects; Misk Values, a social initiative concerned with promoting religious and national values through producing various types of content; the Misk Tales Initiative, which focuses on content creation in writing, drawing, animation, and production; and the Misk Conversation program, which is a platform that brings together young people to tell their inspiring stories and experiences they have undergone.

Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation partnerships

The foundation has a number of global partners, such as Google, Siemens, Hyperloop, UNESCO, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It also has local partners, such as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Saudi Telecom Company, and the General Authority for Military Industries.

Launch of the Mohammed Bin Salman Non-Profit City

On November 14, 2021, the Crown Prince, founder, and chairman of the board of directors of the Mohammed Bin Salman Misk Foundation, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, announced the launch of the Mohammed Bin Salman Non-Profit City, which will be the first non-profit city in the world. The city will contribute to achieving the objectives of the Misk Foundation regarding supporting innovation and entrepreneurship and preparing future leaders in terms of the opportunities and training programs the city will provide for young men and women.

Visual identity of the Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation

After launching the updated operational strategy for Misk in July 2020, the Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation announced on January 2, 2022, the unveiling of its updated visual identity. This new identity is based on simplifying the visual elements of the logo to be more recognizable to the viewer's eye. It also adopts continuous lines instead of dashed lines in the Misk identity, indicating the concept of continuity in giving and growth. In addition, the colors of the identity have been categorized more specifically, applying these colors to the four Misk pathways.
