The Holy Site of Mina has witnessed several historical events over time, most notably:
- Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him (PBUH), stoning the Jamarat and sacrificing a ram as a ransom for his son Ismael (PBUH).
- The first and second Pledges of al-Aqaba between the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Ansar.
- The revelation of Surat an-Nasr: "When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest."
The Holy Site of Mina includes several historical landmarks, such as al-Aqaba Mosque adjacent to the Jamarat Complex, in addition to al-Kabsh Mosque, which has not existed for centuries.
The Holy Site of Mina is the first and last site that pilgrims visit during their Hajj. They begin there on the Day of Tarwiyah, corresponding to the eighth of Dhul-Hijjah each Hijri year, and conclude there on the twelfth day for those who hasten and the thirteenth day for those who delay.
