What Are the Objectives of the Grand Mosque Mediation and Moderation Academy?
The Grand Mosque Mediation and Moderation Academy was established by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques (currently the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque) on January 27, 2021.
The Grand Mosque Mediation and Moderation Academy strives to achieve many goals, including: Fostering correct thinking among members of the Islamic nation, promoting upright behavior based on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, enhancing the spirit of citizenship within society, instilling the culture of dialogue, protecting minds and thought from confusion, doubt, and associated disturbances, clarifying the proper methodology and exposing deviant sects and misguided ideologies.
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque seeks, through the launching of the academy, to implement the principles of moderation and balance in all aspects of life—intellectually and behaviorally—by conveying the true message of Islam based on these values. Additionally, it aims to combat and reject extremist and foreign thoughts that contradict Islamic teachings.
