It is located in the al-Hada Center, northwest of Taif Governorate, about fifteen km from its center. It serves as the upper Miqat for Wadi Qarn al-Manazil.
Location of Miqat Wadi Muharram
The Miqat Mosque at Wadi Muharram is located in al-Hada Center in Taif Governorate, at an elevation of two thousand m above sea level. It is seventy-six km from the Grand Mosque in Makkah al-Mukarramah via al-Hada mountain road and thirty-three km from the Mosque of al-Sail al-Kabir. The mosque covers an area of approximately 2,500 m, situated on top of a hill overlooking the valley. The mosque features a minaret about thirty m high, 190 ablution facilities, seven hundred restrooms, and separate prayer halls for men and women. The men's prayer hall can accommodate 1,500 worshippers, while the women's prayer hall accommodates five hundred worshippers.
Pilgrims from Taif, Najd, the Eastern Province, and southern areas of the Kingdom, as well as those traveling along their route to Makkah al-Mukarramah via the al-Hada road, assume Ihram from the Miqat Mosque at Wadi Muharram. This mosque was designated as the upper Miqat for Qarn al-Manazil after the construction of al-Hada "al-Kurr" road. The other mosque is located in as-Sayl al-Kabir Center at the bottom of the valley. Both locations are valid for assuming Ihram, as the name "Qarn al-Manazil" encompasses the entire valley.
