What Is the difference between Riyadh Province and Riyadh City?

According to the Law of Provinces in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh City is the capital of the Kingdom and is part of a larger administrative geographical area, which is Riyadh Province. Riyadh City is located in the northeastern part of the province.

Riyadh Province consists of twenty-two governorates, which include five hundred administrative centers, in addition to Riyadh City, which is the headquarters of the province's emirate. According to the 2022 Saudi census of the Kingdom, seven million out of 8.6 million people in Riyadh Province live in Riyadh City.
