The National Academy for Military Industries is a non-profit academy established in 2022 to train, qualify, and empower national cadres to work in the military and defense industries sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It aims to achieve localization targets and meet the supply chain requirements in the sector, as announced by the General Authority for Military Industries in 2021.
Programs of the National Academy for Military Industries
The National Academy for Military Industries offers several programs, including the Diploma in Mechanical Technology in Defense, the Diploma in Chemical Technology in Defense, the Diploma in Electrical Technology in Defense, and the Diploma in Electronics Technology in Defense. The academy adopts an employment-based training system, where training is provided through one of the companies contracted with the academy, followed by employment and work with the company.
Requirements for admission to the National Academy for Military Industries
To be admitted to the National Academy for Military Industries, applicants must be Saudi nationals, under twenty-five years old, and medically fit. They must have a high school diploma (science specialization) with a minimum grade of 80 percent, not be supported by the Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF) or the "Tawteen" program, and pass a security screening. Additionally, the applicant must achieve a minimum score of 75 percent in the General Aptitude Test, with the test taken no more than five years ago, and score around 55 percent in the Standardized Test for English Proficiency "STEP" taken no more than three years ago.
Management of the National Academy for Military Industries
The Board of Directors of the academy consists of members from both the public and private sectors, with support from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and industrial companies. The academy is an extension of the military industries sector strategy approved by the Council of Ministers in 2021.
Location of the National Academy for Military Industries
The National Academy for Military Industries is located in Riyadh City, covering an area of approximately 65,000 m. It has a capacity of around two thousand students and is equipped with modern educational and training technologies, including digital labs and virtual and augmented reality technologies.
