Diriyah Arena is an entertainment and cultural site project, part of the megaprojects in ad-Dir'iyyah, the first capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project was announced by the Diriyah Company during participation in the 'MIPIM' real estate exhibition in France, in March 2024.

Diriyah Arena location

Diriyah Arena project is one of the largest entertainment and cultural sites in the Middle East, covering an area of 76,000 m² and featuring twenty thousand seats. It is part of a series of global projects being implemented in ad-Dir'iyyah to showcase it as an international cultural, entertainment, and tourist destination, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The project aims to diversify the national economy, enhance the entertainment scene in the Kingdom, and highlight the cultural and artistic life of ad-Dir'iyyah.

The project is located near the historic Turaif District, one of the heritage sites listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2010, and near the Bujairi Terrace project, which features a collection of restaurants and global brands.

Diriyah Arena masterplan

The global company 'HKS' designed Diriyah Arena project, which is part of the USD63.2 billion masterplan development. The designs represent an innovative blend of concepts and ideas inspired by the natural environment, authentic culture, and Najdi architecture, aligning with the project's objectives. This contributes to redefining cultural and artistic exhibitions, as well as sports events in the region, adhering to sustainable development principles and quality of life standards. The arena aims to serve as a prominent tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the world.

Diriyah Arena is a key component of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority's mission to blend tradition with innovation. The project embodies the authentic lifestyle of ad-Dir'iyyah, carefully combining the enhancement of community engagement, culture, and human connection.

The designs are inspired by traditional Najdi architecture and the surrounding natural environment, optimizing spaces for multiple uses and ensuring smooth transitions between different configurations. This flexibility allows the arena to host various events, performances, and shows while providing a unique entertainment and cultural experience before and after the events. Visitors will enjoy direct access to shopping and dining areas and the vibrant ad-Dir'iyyah community. The project also features outdoor spaces for performances and events, along with a park and green spaces for visitors and tourists. The architectural design elevates from the landscape, forming a series of interlocking blocks that align with the geological formations of the area.
