Riyadh Province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia houses several historical palaces, among the most prominent are:
Al-Masmak Palace:
Its construction dates back to the reign of Imam Abdullah Bin Faisal Bin Turki Al Saud, who started its construction in 1865.
Al-Murabba Palace:
Its construction dates back to the reign of the Founding King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud in 1937.
Badi'ah Historical Palace:
It was constructed during the reign of King Abdulaziz in 1935, along Wadi Hanifah in Riyadh from the western side.
King Abdulaziz Palace in al-Kharj:
It is located in al-Saih City, and was constructed in 1940 with an area of 1,725 m².
King Abdulaziz Palace in ad-Dawadimi:
It is located west of ad-Dawadimi City, constructed in 1932.
King Abdulaziz Palace in Wadi ad-Dawasir:
It dates back to the early stages of the Kingdom’s founding, construction was ordered by King Abdulaziz in 1911.
King Abdulaziz Palace in an-Nu'ayriyyah:
It is located northwest of Nita District in an-Nu'ayriyyah Governorate, constructed in 1930.
Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman Palace 'al-Shamsiyah':
It is located on the western bank of Wadi al-Batha near al-Murabba Neighborhood in Riyadh.
Heritage palaces in central Riyadh:
They were constructed during the reign of King Abdulaziz. Seven palaces are located in western al-Futah and were constructed in 1944, while three are located in eastern al-Futah, from 1935. Additionally, there are five royal palaces (King Fahd's Palace, King Abdullah’s Palace, Princess Haya Bint Abdulrahman’s Palace, Prince Sultan’s Palace, and Princess al-Anoud’s Palace) in al-Dhahirah, al-Futah, and Um al-Salim Neighborhoods.
King Abdulaziz Palace in Um Aqla:
It is located in Um Aqla Hamlet, north of the capital, Riyadh, and was constructed in 1945.
The Red Palace:
It is located south of King Abdulaziz Historical Center, north of al-Futah Park. Its construction was ordered by King Abdulaziz for his son King Saud in 1943.
Zaid Al Hussein Palace in al-Hariq:
It is located in the heart of the palm grove in al-Mufaiger Center affiliated with al-Hariq Governorate, south of Riyadh City, and was renovated by its owners in 2003.
Maqsorat Al-Rajhi:
A heritage palace located north of al-Bukayriyyah Governorate, constructed by the ancestor of al-Rajhi family in 1779.
Maqsorat al-Suwailem:
A heritage palace with several annexes, constructed by the prince of al-Bukayriyyah, Abdullah Bin Suwailem, in the late eighteenth century.
