SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company, formerly known as Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO), is a joint-stock company with 50.1 percent owned by the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). Its headquarters is located in Riyadh, and it specializes in the production of fertilizers and agricultural nutrients on a global scale. It is listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) under the name SABIC Agri-Nutrients in the primary sector. The company is classified among the global leaders in the production of agricultural nutrient elements and provides sustainable, high-quality, environmentally friendly fertilizers, including urea, ammonia, and phosphate products.
In 2018, the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) announced the establishment of SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company to merge its shares and assets distributed among several companies into a single entity, which contributes to the production of a diverse range of agricultural nutrients.
Establishment of SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company
SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company was established in 1965 under the name Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO). It was the first petrochemical company in the Kingdom, established as a joint venture between the Saudi government and its citizens. It was founded with a capital of SAR100 million, which was subsequently increased several times to reach a total of SAR4,760,354,040. SABIC owns a 50.1 percent stake, while the remaining percentage is held by citizens and the private sector.

In 2019, the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and its subsidiary, the Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO), concluded a share purchase agreement under which SAFCO would acquire shares of SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company, thereby allowing SABIC to increase its ownership stake in SAFCO to 50.1 percent.
SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company owns a 50 percent stake in al-Jubail Fertilizer Company (al-Bayroni), the National Chemical Fertilizer Company (Ibn al-Baytar), and a 33.33 percent stake in Gulf Petrochemicals Industries Company (GPIC).
