Geography of Jabal Hassan Island

Jabal Hassan Island is rocky, with most of its areas elevated above the surface. The southeastern and eastern parts of the island include sandy coastal plains, while the surface gradually rises towards the west. Jabal Hassan consists of several summits, the highest of which reaches about 165 m, then they sharply descend towards the west, ending in rocky cliffs and ledges at the coast. A sandy spit extends from the southwest end of the island and deepens into the sea.

The island is not devoid of life; it is inhabited by fishermen who live in huts on the island's mountain. Some plants grow between the summits and on the southern slope of the mountain. The island also has some reefs concentrated in the west and northwest, and it is home to large numbers of turtles.
