Al-Soudah Mountain is one of the mountains in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and has its highest peak. It is located in the Aseer Province and is situated about twenty km away from the city of Abha, standing at an elevation of approximately 3,015 m above sea level. It is part of the Sarawat Mountains, which extends from the north of Taif City to the Saudi-Yemeni border in the south.

Al-Soudah Mountain is one of the most prominent monuments in Aseer Province and the Kingdom in general, and it is part of the Aseer National Park. Some activities that can be enjoyed when visiting al-Soudah Mountain include mountain skiing, rock climbing, paragliding, hang gliding, rope jumping, and camping. Aqabat al-Sama road connects its summit with the Tihama slopes, starting from Abha City to Rijal Almaa Governorate.

The Nature of al-Soudah Mountain

Al-Saudah Mountain is made of igneous rocks, such as granite, and metamorphic rocks, like gneiss and schist, that are extremely strong and erosion resistant. The vegetation cover consists of various types of trees, such as juniper, acacia, wild olive trees, and herbs. Seasonal rainfall on al-Soudah Mountain contributes to expanding green pastures and fostering the growth of aromatic plants.

Soudah Peaks Project encompasses large areas reaching up to 627 km², extending across six main regions: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabra, Jarreen, Rijal, and the Red Rock, with a construction ratio not exceeding 1 percent, supporting the efforts of the Saudi Green Initiative and committing to environmental protection and the adherence of sustainability standards.

The master plan for Soudah Peaks Project consists of three main phases, with the first phase expected to be completed in 2027. This initial phase includes the development of 940 hotel rooms, 391 residential units, and thirty-two thousand m2 of commercial space.
