The Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation (SCOT) is the official entity responsible for human organ donation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Established in 1984 under the name 'National Kidney Center,' it initially focused on organizing kidney transplantation and caring for patients with kidney failure. The center played a significant role in accelerating the establishment of dialysis centers across the Kingdom. It later launched an organ donation program for brain-dead donors. In 2021, the Law on Human Organ Donation was approved in the Kingdom to provide healthy vital organs and transplant them to patients with organ failure, following specific controls and standards.
