Al-Orobah Club is one of the sports clubs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headquartered in Sakaka City, al-Jawf Province. Founded in 1975, the club is classified within the ROSHN Saudi Professional League. The club's stadium serves as the primary venue for its football team's matches.
History of al-Orobah Club
At the beginning of its founding, the club was called al-Najmah before its name was changed to al-Orobah Club in 1995. The football team succeeded in reaching the Professional League for the first time in its history in 2014. The club has won several titles, including the First Division and Second Division leagues, each once. Then, in 2024, the team secured promotion to the Roshn Saudi Professional League for the second time in its history.
Sports at al-Orobah Club
Al-Orobah Club has 311 registered players and is affiliated with seven sports federations, covering football, swimming, handball, boxing, volleyball, karate, and weightlifting. There is a women's team at al-Orobah Club that includes football and futsal. The club participates in ten classified sports, having added badminton, e-sports, and taekwondo to its sports activities.
Al-Orobah Club Stadium
Al-Orobah Stadium is a multi-purpose venue built in 1975, with a seating capacity of around six thousand spectators. It serves as the official home ground for al-Orobah Club and is also used by al-Jandal Club for its matches in the Yelo League.
Colors and emblem of al-Orobah Club
The club's emblem consists of three colors: (Yellow, green, and blue). After the promotion, al-Orobah Club unveiled its new identity inspired by the historical Zaabal Castle in al-Jawf and the first two letters of the club's name, OR.
Privatization of al-Orobah Club
On July 3, 2024, the Ministry of Sport announced the beginning of the second phase of the second track in the sports clubs' investment and privatization project, in coordination with the National Center for Privatization. This followed the approval by the Council of Ministers on July 2, 2024, of the project document to privatize fourteen sports clubs from various leagues, including al-Orobah Club in al-Jawf.
