The Center of Cybercrimes Studies is one of the research centers at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh City, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Established in 2013, the center aims to provide a conducive research environment that enables researchers to prepare specialized scientific studies and research related to cybercrimes. This contributes to achieving cyber security locally and internationally through specialized scientific outputs, addressing issues related to digital evidence and electronic signatures, protecting public morals when using information technology, and clarifying the rights and duties associated with the use of information networks, phones, and computers, as well as removing obstacles to the use of electronic transactions in all public and private sectors.

Objectives of the Center of Cybercrimes Studies

The Center of Cybercrimes Studies works to achieve several objectives, including: providing scientific support to government bodies and institutions, developing a scientific environment for studying cybercrimes, and empowering researchers by providing a conducive research environment.

Outputs of the Center of Cybercrimes Studies

The Center of Cybercrimes Studies has organized a number of awareness lectures and discussion sessions, including: a lecture on ‘Psychological Characteristics of Cybercriminals’, a lecture on ’Digital Identity: Management and Theft’, a discussion session on ‘Integrative Dimension between Judiciary and Technology’, and a session on "Legal Disputes in Cyber Attacks." Additionally, the center has launched a special program to fund research projects related to cybercrimes.
