1953
The Ministry of Transportation was established, overseeing all aspects of transportation in the Kingdom, including roads, ports, and railways.
1975
The Saudi Ports Authority and the Saudi Railways Organization were established. The Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services took on the responsibility of planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining roads and bridges. Subsequently, a dedicated transportation agency was created, responsible for planning and overseeing the land and maritime transport sectors.
2003
The name of the Ministry of Transportation was changed to the Ministry of Transport.
2021
Approval was issued to change the name of the Ministry of Transport to the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services.
