The National Information Technology Academy (NITA) is one of the Strategic Partnership Institutes of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) in the Kingdom. It is a non-profit national training institution established in Dammam City in 2017 through an initiative by four governmental institutions: the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, Saudi Aramco, and the Communications, Space and Technology Commission. NITA offers a range of training courses and advanced academic programs in various fields of information technology to qualify a generation of Saudi workers, bridge gaps between academia and industry, reduce unemployment rates in the Kingdom, and support digital transformation in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Objectives of the National Information Technology Academy

The National Information Technology Academy aims to develop the information technology sector and digital economy in the Kingdom, equip the Saudi workforce with information technology (IT) and communications skills to meet future job market needs, and enhance localization rates across all sectors.

Programs of the National Information Technology Academy

The National Information Technology Academy offers a range of academic training pathways to establish technical and professional skills among trainees. These include the Core Stream Program, which targets high school graduates by providing English language courses and personal skills training, followed by technical training in various specializations required in the local job market, such as a Diploma in General Information and Communication Technology (ICT), an Electromechanical Program, IT General Management, a Pre-Sales IT Technology Diploma, and an AI Practitioner Diploma.

The academy also offers the Bridge Stream Training Program, which lasts from three to six months and includes personal skills training and advanced specialized training targeted at graduates from Saudi colleges and universities. Additionally, the Distance Learning Program allows trainees to access training programs regardless of their geographical location, in collaboration with Coursera, one of the leading online education providers worldwide. The academy also provides various courses upon request to enable IT and communications professionals with specialized skills and certifications and organizes a range of specialized technical training programs with a focus on emerging technologies.
